A one-day strategic redesign sprint of a pedagogical AI tool. Transforming a text-heavy chatbot into an intuitive, illustrated 'professional anchor' that provides immediate field support for mentors.
Matzmichim (The Center for Violence Reduction) is a leading Israeli non-profit dedicated to improving school climates and reducing violence through emotional and pedagogical tools.
They train professional mentors to implement the "Matzmichim language"- a unique approach to fostering caring and safe classroom environments.

The challenge
The original AI tool for Matzmichim mentors followed a traditional, text-input-only chat pattern. While functional, it lacked "presence"- the UI felt cold and robotic, failing to provide the sense of professional authority and emotional support mentors need when dealing with complex social dynamics in schools.
Solution
A high-speed, one-day design sprint to overhaul the UI, establish a new visual identity, and simplify the UX for immediate pilot deployment.

Eliminating Friction
Eliminating Friction
Illustrated Quick-Choice Menus
I replaced traditional text-entry loops with a custom-designed, illustrated button system. This allows mentors to identify their needs (Consultation, Activity Bank, or Work Plan) instantly through visual cues.
Intuitive Simplicity
The goal was to avoid the "UX clutter" of traditional enterprise chatbots. By keeping the core chat interface minimal and focusing on visual triggers, the tool requires zero learning curve.
A New Illustrative Language
Custom Iconography
In a matter of hours, I developed a fresh illustrative language to give the bot a "living" personality. These assets act as supportive anchors, making the AI feel like a professional colleague rather than a database.
The "Mentor" Vibe
The design balances a "playful" aesthetic with "professional reliability". The color palette and visual movements were curated to feel approachable and non-judgmental, reinforcing the mentor’s sense of capability.

The Impact
High-Speed Execution
Successfully shifted the product from a "search tool" to a "recommendation engine" in under 24 hours.
Field-Ready Pilot
The new visual-first interface lowered the barrier to entry, allowing mentors to access critical pedagogical guidance in high-pressure environments without friction.
Reflection
This sprint was a lesson in intentional simplicity. It proved that a strong visual strategy can turn a functional backend into a supportive professional companion, providing value exactly where it's needed: in the field.
